장례 기간 중 상실의 슬픔을 웃음과 풍자로 승화시키는 진도의 민속극입니다.
‘다시래기’라는
말은 ‘다시나기’(다시
낳다), ‘다시락(多侍樂,
여러
사람이 모여서 같이 즐긴다), ‘대시(待時)레기’(망자의
영혼이 떠나는 때를 기다린다)에서
유래한 것으로 풀이됩니다.
마을
사람들이 모여 죽은 자의 명복을 빌며 밤새 연희와 익살로 유족을 위로하는 놀이로, 진도다시래기는
연희와 대사로 구성된 독특한 상여놀이이자 공동체의 정서와 삶의 지혜를 담고 있는 중요한
민속예술입니다.

Dasiraegi
is a traditional folk theater of Jindo that transforms the sorrow of mourning
during the funeral
period into humor, satire, and communal consolation.
The
term “Dasiraegi” is commonly interpreted as originating from “Dasinagi” (to be
born again), “Dasirak”
(to enjoy together), and “Daesi-raegi” (to wait for the spirit’s departure at
its destined time). In
this ritual play, villagers gather to honor the deceased and comfort the
bereaved through night-long performances
filled with music, playful gestures, and humorous dialogue. Jindo
