Jindo
Arirang is a representative folk song of Korea’s southern coastal region,
reflecting the lives and emotions
of island communities.
Known
for its rich melodic lines and dignified vocal style, it has been sung
naturally in daily life—while
working in the fields, rowing boats, or walking along village paths—capturing
the joys andsorrows
of the people of Jindo. Its
lyrics express a wide range of emotions, from love and farewell to hardship,

it a symbolic song that embodies the identity and communal spirit of the

Arirang is also recognized as one of the major regional variations of
“Arirang,” which was inscribed
